Fourth World Radyo: The Political Economy of Colonial Dreaming: DACA & the Immigrant Struggle for Eurosettler Acceptance, Segment 1

3 months 4 weeks ago
In another Spoken Word dispatch, FWR host @TheAngryindian speaks on the little-addressed political flip-flop many DACA-recipients – certainly not all – have decided to employ when it comes to (specific) political support for the Trump Administration and MAGA, in general, despite its anti-Immigrant; anti-immigrant; pro-White Supremacist; far-rightist sociopolitical and anti-Spanish-speaking Indigenous American economic policies. Reflecting on personal anecdotes and more than three decades of political activism, the host asks (sincerely) if Indigenous and Afro-Americans are prepared to put their revolutionary fervour (again) behind politically assisting (another) oppressed demographic that – to some degree – might be willing to take side(s) with White Power in the United States – provided – that Latin immigrants are allowed to remain in the USA and prosper, collectively, as a group. Afro-Americans have always supported other ethnic minorities in North America while historically, American Africans have NOT received substantial sociopolitical reciprocal support for liberation initiatives moves that DO NOT directly benefit other oppressed peoples in the country. EXTRAS: ‘Bash The Fash’ by anti-fascist heroes Oi Polloi and an archived NOI address by Bro. Jeremiah Muhammad recalling an attempt by the Black Muslim organisation’s desire to develop a working understanding with the Ku Klux Klan finish off the programme. All this and much more on, 4WR. Global Research News Hour: Downfall of an Icon: Aung San Suu Kyi, the Rohingyas, and the Bigger Picture, Segment 1

3 months 4 weeks ago
This week's Global Research News Hour inspects the international outrage expressed over the Rohingya crisis in Myanmar, and the apparent indifference of the previously venerated pro-democracy champion, Aung San Suu Kyi. In the first half hour, writer and broadcaster Stephen Lendman shares his thoughts about the misportrayal of Aung San Suu Kyi as a pro-democracy icon. He has written two articles recently lamenting the plight of the Rohingyan people. In the second half hour, Mint Press News contributor Whitney Webb makes her debut. SHe is the author of a recent article: "Oil, Gas, Geopolitics Guide US Hand In Playing The Rohingya Crisis." She puts the situation in a geopolitical context, acknowledging that breaking up alliances with China is most likely a bigger factor in the visible criticism of the Nobel Peace Prize winner, than humanitarian sentiment.

Phil interviews Eva, whose timely voyage to the DPRK shines a light on a land darkened by our own ignorance. They also discuss the satirical documentary, "The Haircut," which is more accurate than the mainstream media.

3 months 4 weeks ago
This week’s archive radio show starts of in amazement by pointing out that both presidential candidates were telling the truth about something during the last election. We describe the future of oppression, we ponder a very disturbing question asked by our president, we detail a lethal battle that is happening right now at this very moment right inside your own nose — and for the feature piece this week we describe how stupidity can exponentially grow once unleashed. The Thunderbolt — your source for naked emperors.

Taylor Report: Sports Titles Are Great, But the Goal Must Be Players & Students of Conscience, Segment 1

3 months 4 weeks ago
Ted Schmidt reflects on his part in developing a championship team, how sharing books and the thoughts of Martin Buber, J.D. Salinger, and even Martin Luther King both inspired and morally informed the players—he was not coaching, he was teaching. Out of the Woods: Out of the Woods - Show #390 - 9-30-17, Segment 6

3 months 4 weeks ago
This version of the program is divided into 6 segments so broadcasters who desire to use this content can insert your station info, etc. The segments vary in length. Out of the Woods is an earthy, wires and wood, mostly acoustic program featuring some of the best new and established artists from the worlds of folk, bluegrass, singer-songwriters, alt.country, Americana, classic country, old-time, Celtic, and everything that falls in between. The show is an unpredictable mix flowing like a river between moods, often with an edge or in a melancholy minor key. On occasion, Out of the Woods features interviews and live in-studio performances with national and international touring musicians. Past guests have included artists such as Bela Fleck, Si Kahn, Brown Bird, Dana Robinson, Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen, Kate MacLeod, Bill Bourne, Karl Shiflett, Rachel Bissex, Darryl Purpose, Bow Thayer, Cosy Sheridan and many others. Out of the Woods grew out of Jon 'Chip' Colcord's former acoustic programs, The Song Swap and Music For The Mountain, separate folk and bluegrass programs which aired in New Hampshire during the 1990s. As a child, Colcord grew up a ravenous music fan with an ear for both rock and folk. All of these influences converge on Out of the Woods to bring you a mix which is as much on the edge as it is down home. Folk music with a rock 'n' roll soul
