Gonzalo Gomez is the editor and founder of aporrea.org an independent news wire in Venezuela

Aporrea was set up after the 11 of April coup de Etat against presidente Chavez by the Venezuelan oligarqy with USA support. Aporrea was a direct reaction to the sabotage that the official media (owbed by the oligarqy) was doing to the goverment of president Chavez who is a democraticly elected president whose majority of followers are the popular masses.
