The Thunderbolt: TB 180413 — Desuckers of America 2X, Segment 1

1 semana 2 días ago
This week’s archive radio show ponders what we would do if we had a brain. We contemplate the double standard between government reactions to radical right-wing actions and radical left-wing actions, and we cogitate upon various manners of desucking America. In Part 2 we point out that piracy is a crime (before engaging in an act of piracy ourselves), we encourage listeners to vote Republican (with tongue in cheek, of course), and for the feature piece we reveal the True Confessions of an Evangelical Mother Ducker. (I know that sounds pretty bad — but don’t worry! It’s even worse than it sounds!) Yes — twists and turns galore this week! Hang onto your brain pan…

1 semana 3 días ago
Sonic Café, so glad you could drop by for the program. I’m your host Scott Clark and this is episode 84. This time on the Sonic Café our headphone friendly music mix includes tracks from Spoon, the Soul Bossa Trio, Jimmy Eat World, Herbie Mann, The Jayhawks and more. And then later we’ll open up our phone lines here at the Sonic Café to give you a chance to speak with Mr. Obvious, our very own self-help guru. Then we’ll also squeeze in a little avant-garde jazz from Joe Henderson, pulled from the Milestone Years Box set. All that … and of course more coming at you this hour, as we bring you yet another episode of intelligent, eclectic music, comedy and pop culture, from that little café, that sits high on cliff overlooking the big blue Pacific… we’re the Sonic Café.

The Sonic Cafe: Sonic Cafe #83/School Of Rock: Classic Rock Made In The 70's, Segment 1

1 semana 3 días ago
Sonic Café. Welcome to episode 83, I’m your host Scott Clark. This time on the Sonic Café we’re gonna take you to school. To change things up a bit, we’ll focus on just one decade. The nineteen seventies… which according to Homer Simpson is when rock n’ roll was perfected… it’s a scientific fact, I guess. Anyway, listen for 70’s classic rockers from Bruce Springsteen, Rush, The Cars, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, The Doobie Brothers and more. Plus, we’ll all get taken to school by none other than Jack Black himself. Listen as Jack passes along some valuable life lessons as he cuts to the heart of what rock n’ roll is really all about. The School of Rock… Classic Rock from the 70’s… this time from that little café on the coast that’s always Rockin’. We’re the Sonic Café.

Out of the Woods: Out of the Woods - Show #419 - 4-21-18, Segment 6

1 semana 3 días ago
This version of the program is divided into 6 segments so broadcasters who desire to use this content can insert your station info, etc. The segments vary in length. Out of the Woods is an earthy, wires and wood, mostly acoustic program featuring some of the best new and established artists from the worlds of folk, bluegrass, singer-songwriters, alt.country, Americana, classic country, old-time, Celtic, and everything that falls in between. The show is an unpredictable mix flowing like a river between moods, often with an edge or in a melancholy minor key. On occasion, Out of the Woods features interviews and live in-studio performances with national and international touring musicians. Past guests have included artists such as Bela Fleck, Si Kahn, Brown Bird, Dana Robinson, Steve Gillette & Cindy Mangsen, Kate MacLeod, Bill Bourne, Karl Shiflett, Rachel Bissex, Darryl Purpose, Bow Thayer, Cosy Sheridan and many others. Out of the Woods grew out of Jon 'Chip' Colcord's former acoustic programs, The Song Swap and Music For The Mountain, separate folk and bluegrass programs which aired in New Hampshire during the 1990s. As a child, Colcord grew up a ravenous music fan with an ear for both rock and folk. All of these influences converge on Out of the Woods to bring you a mix which is as much on the edge as it is down home. Folk music with a rock 'n' roll soul
