Building Bridges: Kavanaugh's Anti-Labor Track Record, Segment 1

1 settimana 5 giorni ago
Kavanaugh's Anti-Labor Track Record with Sharon Block, Executive Director of Harvard's Labor and Worklife Program The AFL-CIOs President, Richard Trumka described Trumps nominee Brett Kavanaugh for his second pick to the Supreme Ct. as having a dangerous track record protecting the privileges of the wealthy and powerful at the expense of working people. The Service Employees International Union, one of the countrys largest just tweeted that confirming Kavanaugh would tip the scales of justice against working people. To ready us for the battle at hand Sharon Block, Executive Director of Harvard's Labor and Worklife Program makes the case that Kavanaughs record reflects a sustained and, at times, aggressive hostility to the role of the law in protecting the vulnerable and less powerful.

The Alembic Files: The Anti-Federalists - Part Twelve, Segment 1

1 settimana 5 giorni ago
Ecclesiastes 1:9: There is nothing new under the Sun. Censorship today…Censorship then. Our Framers were all too eager to lie to their citizenry. The Founders, inspired by avarice, stooped to the level of wielding Franklin’s creation, the Postal Services, to intercept and conceal research and communications skeptical of the new plan. News outlets conveying and/or endorsing the views of the Anti Federalists were discredited and defunded through dirty tactics and slander. Centinel, in another hard-hitting letter—No. 12—unmasks the deceptive Publius (Alexander Hamilton) as a tool of the designing. Centinel unveiled the insidious methods of those we deify and lionize today.

Taylor Report: Labour Day Marchers Reject the Ex, Segment 1

1 settimana 6 giorni ago
In an historic first, Toronto's annual Labour Day march did not enter the Canadian National Exhibition. Management of the "Ex" has locked out 400 members of IATSE, and brought in replacement workers. Hence, organized workers nixed the Ex. And perhaps this will lead to rethinking Labour Day. Is it time to join the world and march on May Day? Guest Mike Hersh also brings labour news from Mexico. The popular miner's leader, "Napoleon", after years in exile, has returned and with the support of the new President, Obrador, been chosen to serve in Mexico's senate.

THE THUNDERBOLT: TB 180907 Needed: 100 Monkeys, Segment 1

1 settimana 6 giorni ago
This week’s show starts off by revealing that Facebook has taken it upon itself to start censoring our political speech — and you’ll be very surprised to learn some of the writers who are being ‘banned’ for promoting ‘hate speech’. Next we contemplate how nothing is pure black or pure white, we point out that while the style may be new, the play is the same, and then we reveal how listeners can start their very own drug cartel! We then reveal the ‘party of the warmongers’ (it is actually both of them) before we attempt to envision some kind of end game around here. You never know where the Thunderbolt will strike next! Beware!
