This week on resistance, remixed, DJ Lotus interviews Ingrid chapman of the catalyst project about the upcoming Challenging White Supremacy workshop in San Diego.

Resitance, Remixed is an experiment in tactical audio production where DJ Lotus creates audio which is in itself an act of resistance. Resistance, remixed also looks for new forms of resistance all over the world in an effort to find new, effective ways of combating neo-liberalism and the religious right, while creating direct democracy.

The CWS workshop examines institutional racism in society and focuses on how white privilege manifests in social justice activism. White privilege expresses itself in the ways that leadership from oppressed communities is routinely marginalized and how racism is frequently absent from white activist's view of society.

Ingrid Chapman is a young community organizer, direct action activist and core member of Catalyst Project. Her roots within radical left organizing began as leading member of the global justice movement in the late '90s. She was a founding member of "Active Solidarity; a collective for anti-racism education" and has led workshops with thousands of activists around the country. The last 2 years she has worked with Oakland resident in struggle for tenant rights and alternatives to incarceration and policing.
