Debate hosted by the Grand Rapids Bar Association on the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative (MCRI), a ballot initiative that will end affirmative action in the state of Michigan.

Audio from a forum on the Michigan Civil Rights Initiative (MCRI) held in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Tuesday, June 6, 2006. The MCRI, sponsored by California resident Ward Connerly and campaigner for California's Proposition 209, would ban affirmative action programs in the state of Michigan. The forum featured Ward Connerly and MCRI Director Jennifer Gratz (the person that sued the University of Michigan over their admissions program) defending the MCRI, while Sister Monica Kostielney of the Michigan Catholic Conference and Bruce Courtade of the Grand Rapids Bar Association spoke against the initiative.
