The US Marines have finally released a statement about the slaughter of every man, woman, and child(save one) in three homes in Haditha, Iraq. In the statement they called these tactics in response to guerilla attacks "policy!"

They stated that if they take fire from a home, they can enter it and "clear" every room with hand grenades and spray fire regardless of who other than the Resistance fighters may be inside.

When combined with statements from neighbors that people in haditha were shot while begging for their lives, this means if you allow the Resistance to use your home, you must risk the possible deliberate slaughter of your entire family!

Unfortunately this disgusting poicy is not new for the United States. This is how they made war on Native American villages, and who can forget the horrific My Lai massacre in Vietnam.

In counterinsurgency, the guerillas swim among the people as fish swin in the sea. Imperialists cannot catch all the fish, so instead they try to boil the sea. This never works-it only makes martyrs whose names are never forgotten and recruits ten new guerillas for every person killed.

It didn't work for the Nazis when they executed ten villagers for every Nazi stormtrooper killed in Occupied France, and it won't work for the US in Occupied Iraq.

I doubt anyone in Iraq wil ever forget Haditha, and the names of the slaughtered will be on their lips as they engage US forces with renewed fury...
