Defeat of Joe Lierman warns pro-war Dems to "Move On"

Connecticut voters have warned all pro-war Democrats and even some Republicans to either dump Bush and his war or get replaced

This yeear could well turn into another 1994, where a single issue overturns so many incumbents as to cost a party control of the House, teh Senate, or both.

In 1994, an outraged NRA responded to Clinton's very unpopular gun control program by mobilizing voters to dump dozens of Democrats who voted for the program. Combined with opposition to Hillery Clinton's IMF style heath care "reforms," the result was to hand both houses of COngress to the Repugnicans on a silver platter.

Now the shoe is on the other foot, and what Newt and the NRA did to the Democrats may now be about to happen to the Repugnicans. It's like a tsunami-they can see it coming, but can neither run from it nor stop it. All they can do is watch it happen, unless of course they are prepared to gin up another 9-11 or deliberatly let one happen. Is that what this "Red Alert" is really about-getting voters back in line?

Of course, voting in even antiwar Democrats will never stop the war unless we use ALL the tools in the toolbox-after you vote, get out in the streets! We will need to take to the streets like in Mexico City for corce a new Congress to cut off all funding for the war and force Bush to withdraw the troops before they run out of food, fuel, and ammo.
