Dear Radio Friend,

The latest Shortwave Report (November 7) is up at the websitehttp://www.outfarpress.com/outfarpress/shortwave.shtml in both broadcast quality (13.2MB) and quickdownload or streaming form (3.3MB) (29:00) It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.

This program will be aired on Friday evening at 7pm on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via http://www.kzyx.org

There are several other streams that work better- http://www.freakradio.org Freak Radio Santa Cruz (96.3fm) now streams this program on Friday at 9:30am (PDST)

Also check out LavaLamp Radio (Japan)- http://www.radiolavalamp.org

And the Partytown streams are great and informative- http://www.partytown.com/radio

This week's show features stories from Radio Netherlands, China Radio International, the Voice of Russia, and Radio Havana Cuba.

From Netherlands- The shells discovered last month by US troops in Iraq and alleged to have traces of biological weaponery turned out to be conventional weapons. The Mexican Supreme Court has set a precedent for prosecuting police accused of state sponsored terror. A new survey among European citizens found that the state of Israel is considered a greater threat to world peace than N Korea, Iran or the US- Israeli spokesmen angrily dismissed the results as anti-semitism. Following the congressional approval of the $87 billion aid to Iraq, the Bush administration wants to increase US money to aid Israel’s military.

From China- The President of Sri Lanka has imposed a state of emergency on the entire country. The Presidents of China and Pakistan have made several agreements on economic and military mutual protection. The European Commission has proposed phasing in serious tariffs on US products. Russia’s richest man and chief executive of the nation’s largest oil company has been jailed while awaiting a trial on fraud.

From Russia- Russia has stated that under no circumstances would they send troops to Iraq. A resolution in the UN General Assembly calling on the US to lift its economic embargo on Cuba passed by a vote of 178-3.

From Cuba- First a Viewpoint on the UN resolution calling on the US to drop the 41 year-old embargo on Cuba. British aid agencies are saying that the US and Britain are failing to clean up their unexploded bombs and mines in Iraq, Kossovo, and Afghanistan. 100,000 Israelis took to the streets Sunday to demand an end to the occupation of Palestinian territories.

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt!
