Nov 30. Manhattan. A disinformation campaign by Timoney and co-horts, unseen before, was engaged in months before the actual conference.
An activist and video documentary maker, speaks to Timoney's slick, coordinated PR efforts aimed at the business community, done months in advance of the FTAA conference. Using power-point type approaches all activists, young and old, green, anarchist, labor, or otherwise were demonized. Unconstitutional 8-person max group restriction ordinances were passed, independent media was portrayed as somehow dangerous, all contributing to a situation unrecognizable to anyone who considers freedom of assembly and freedom of speeh basic human rights.
