Feminist peace activist Pnina Firestone is one of the key Jewish Israeli organizers of Women in Black, the Women's Coalition for a Just Peace, and New Profile, the feminist movement to "civilize Israeli society." Stricken two decades ago by a debilitating case of rheumatoid arthritis, Pnina Firestone considered ending her life. Instead, the wheelchair-bound Israeli grandmother has mutated her frustrations into an enduring commitment to work for a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
