If all goes well, there will be a live feed for FM and internet listeners from the streets of New York City. Email us if you would like to help with this activity.
March 20-NYC Listening to OGG Vorbis Streams
Click for 16k/32k streamThis March 20 Rally Against War and Occupation event in New York City is webcast online using Ogg Vorbis format audio streaming. This is a licence free format for streaming. It is typically a 24k or 32k mono stream. You may need to download and install another audio player for your computer, since REAL Player and Quicktime won't work. Click on the logo below that corresponds to the type of computer Operating System you are using, and download the audio player software.
IF YOU DON'T HEAR ANYTHING, make sure you have Winamp Player version 2.9 or higher, and make sure the stream is live. If they aren't streaming yet, then you won't hear anything.
Winamp for PC
Linux
Mac OS X Digital Audio Player
If you are having problems with the wpfwremote32k.m3u link, like the WRONG program automatically starts up when you click on it, follow these trusted instructions:
1. Copy and paste the link into your audio player URL.
2. How? Open Winamp, or whatever you use to play OGG VORBIS files.
3. Then, choose from the menu Play Location (CTRL-L in Winamp).
4. Paste in: http://liveradio.indymedia.org:8003/wpfw.ogg.m3u
5. After clicking "OPEN", it should automatically say "connecting". If it never says "pre-buffering" or you don't hear the audio within 1 minute, then something is wrong.
6. Remember, when you learn it once, you're FREE using FREE software and the FREE and open audio format called OGG VORBIS. If we used Real audio format, we'd have to pay money.
