Rangel is calling for a return to the draft, while McCain is calling for sending MORE troops to Iraq in a futile attempt to defeat both the brutal civil war and the popular resistance to US occupation.

Counterinsurgency experts estimate ONE MILLION TROOPS would be "needed" in Iraq. That return to the draft that Rangel wants would be the only way to get them.

The draft would NOT have deterred the Iraq war-it would have only allowed Bush to go to war with Iran and North Korea as well.

Also, bringing back the draft would spread the insurgency from the Middle East to the US mainland as school-hating youth dispaired at the prospect of prison or war.

You can bet that members of the ALF and ELF would have something to say about receiving draft notices! The new groups that would form form that nucleus to wage war on Selective Service would grow aqs fast as the insurgency did in Occupied Iraq in 2003-2004.

In addition to attacks on Selective Service from anti-draft direct qction groups, antiwar demos would combine the numbers of a big UFPJ march with tqctics similar to those used in Seattle 1999, FTAA in Quebec 2001,G-8 in Genoa and so on.

Imagine having both police and huge numbers of protestors hammering each other with every available tactic and tool every few weeks, for days on end each time, in every major city!

Days of Rage, anyone?
