New Mexican interior minister a threat to the people of Oaxaca-and of civil war

Phillipe Calderon, whose claim to the Mexican presidency is dubious at best, has nominated hard liner Francisco Ramirez Acuna for Interior Minister. He is vowing to use force in places like Oaxaca, where protetors have bluntly called him a Fascist.

Already state violence in Mexico has begun the slide towards civil war. Bombs are exploding in Mexico City as people avenge the dead of Oaxaca, one "shredding" the building used by the Election Tribunal that gave the election to Calderon.

The first test could come as soon as Friday, December 1, as social justice groups do everything possible to block the inauguration of Calderon. This could make the Jan 20,2001 Counterinaugural in DC look like a playground fight!

If death squad activity and PFP murders in Oaxaca continue, things could get really ugly, along the lines of the fighting in Occupied Iraq or Occupied Palestine. There are plenty of skilled experts in isurgency throughout Latin America who could give a lot of help to a fledgling Mexican uprising.

Calderon and Ulysses Riez need to step down now, beforre it's too late...
