Dear Readers,
Happy new year as we count down to 2012 and the “end
times”. As I write this, the World Social Forum is
convening in Africa. As people from all over the world
gather and communicate with each other, one thing is
clear... WE NEED MORE RADIO TRANSMITTERS! Perhaps some
giant manufacturing effort is the answer. Cranking ‘em out
one at a time by hand is too slow! I’m thinking giant
factories with robots and automated assembly lines or
something like that. If anybody has any ideas on this
subject please email me at ampb@california.com. Meanwhile,
things here in Berkeley are mellow and fine. Congrats to
Brattleboro, Vermont for getting WVEW up and running and

STATION ALERT
Copenhagen pirate station defies authorities
Since Thursday 14 December, a pirate radio station has been
operating on 101.8 MHz from Ungdomshuset (literally “the
Youth House”) in Copenhagen. Ungdomshuset is a rendezvous
for various left-wing political and social initiatives,
concerts and festivals, permanently occupied by activists,
and a de facto “no go area” for the police. Consequently,
the station has not been raided.
The pirate station has used various names since its
started, but appears to have settled on Pirat Radio 69. It
also streams on the Internet, and a station in Amsterdam -
Radio Rietveld at the Stedelijk Museum - has started
relaying it at weekends on 105.6 MHz.

Pop stars unite to save Ross Revenge
A group of disc jockeys and pop stars from the 1970s have
joined forces to preserve one of Grimsby's best known deep
sea trawlers.The Ross Revenge was a top earner out of
Grimsby for many years and was at one time the longest
sidewinder in the world, but after the Cod War in the 1970s
she took on an even more glamorous role as the pop pirate
radio station, Radio Caroline.
The ship is currently moored in a private berth at Tilbury
Docks where, against all the odds, a group of enthusiasts
are managing to keep her in fairly reasonable condition.
Now rock star Rick Wakeman of the bands 'Strawbs 'and 'Yes'
fame, along with DJs like Keith Skues and Johnnie Walker
are calling for the ship to be placed under a preservation
order in the same way as any historic and notable building.
The Ross Revenge was built in Bremerhaven, Germany in 1960
and first served with an Icelandic fishing company under
the name 'Freyr', with the Reykjavik registration RE1. In
1963 she was sold to Ross Trawlers at Grimsby and renamed
the Ross Revenge and became a highly successful earner
serving off Iceland, Newfoundland and the Barents Sea.
Later, she was a salvage recovery vessel in the early 1980s
when the owners of Radio Caroline bought her, installed two
studios and restored her as a pirate radio station,
broadcasting to over 15 million people.The Ross Revenge is
maintained by a volunteer engineering crew who aim to
repair and preserve the ship to her former glory. All work
is financed by members of the Radio Caroline Support group,
merchandise sold through Radio Caroline Sales, guided tours
and voluntary donations. None of the crew members receive
any financial reward for their efforts - our reward comes
from seeing happy smiling faces coming to visit the ship!

Hams, Meet Pods: A Classic Hobby Gets New Marketing
John Martin and Mike Dell are producing a new, free podcast
that they say will teach listeners everything they need to
know to get their Technician Class Amateur (Ham) Radio
license.
Martin and Dell are Amateur Extra class licensees with
about 50 years total experience in the hobby.

John Martin, KF8KK, received his ham radio license in 1974,
and has worked as a broadcast engineer for most of his
career along with running an Internet-based children's toy
business and an electronic product mail order business. He
has taught two ham radio license courses and is an ARRL
accredited volunteer examiner. Mike Dell, N7LMJ, earned his
first ham radio license in Idaho in 1987 while serving
there in the U.S. Air Force. He also is an ARRL accredited
volunteer examiner.

1,000 People Spell Out IMPEACH! On The Beach
Over 1000 people gathered in Nancy Pelosi's district, on
Ocean Beach in San Francisco, to spell out the message
"IMPEACH!" "America is a great country," said event
organizer Brad Newsham, a local cab driver and author. "But
President Bush has betrayed our faith. He mislead us into a
disastrous war, and is trampling on our Constitution. He
has to go. Now. I hope Nancy Pelosi is listening today."
A majority of Americans share Newsham's sentiments. A 2006
Zogby poll found that 52% of Americans agreed with the
statement: "If President Bush wiretapped American citizens
without the approval of a judge, do you agree or disagree
that Congress should consider holding him accountable
through impeachment?"

Round World Goes Flat

It’s generally accepted that there was a time, hundreds of
years ago, when there was a prevalent belief that the Earth
was flat. Eventually however, after the voyages of Magellan
and Columbus and the analyses of Copernicus and Galileo, it
became conclusively apparent that the Earth was quite
obviously round. But this acceptance didn’t come overnight
and there was undoubtedly many a feisty and heated conflict
along the way among the proponents of the flat and
round-world camps. It seems that we’ve arrived at a point
in contemporary history at which we’re facing another great
divide. But this one is not over the geo-physical shape of
the Earth, but rather the emotional belief systems of the
public on an assortment of hotly contested pivotal issues.
When our institutionalized controllers of acceptable
thinking (OK, the government) have advanced theories they
want us to embrace, they bring on board legions of
scientists, historians, commentators and authorities from
every field to back up their assertions. But when an
alternative view surfaces that runs counter to their
accepted position, never mind that there may be an
overwhelming abundance of documentation supportive of the
alternate theory, it will still be viciously attacked -
especially if this view alleges corruption within the elite
power structure. If supporting evidence of such claims is
particularly credible and brought forth by reputable
sources, the entrenched establishment may be compelled to
play its ace-in-the-hole by labeling it as a conspiracy
theory. After all, this option has become quite an
effective one in the minds of the public because it often
pits a lone-wolf advocate against the government’s stable
of hired guns. Since the average John Q. Public has been
strategically overwhelmed with his survival work regimen,
he predictably has little or no time to examine the
evidence for himself. He’s therefore prone to default to
the popular position advanced by the corporate-owned media,
especially since it’s fronted by familiar talking heads
he’s conditioned to trust. Whether the divisive issue
happens to be the 911 controversy, AIDS as an intentionally
spread designer disease, or maddogs running amuck in the
White House, you can depend on there being only
well-groomed anchors on the dominant media outlets
parroting the government’s official position. These
highly-paid media darlings read from scripts written by
writer-editors as absolutely nothing is left to chance.
This process, expressed another way, could well be referred
to as information type denied. If this phrase has a
familiar ring to it, it could be because many of you among
the AMPB readership may have first hand experience with the
FCC’s strict rules and regulations for technical equipment,
one ofwhich is called “type approved”. This label denotes
equipment which is more sophisticated and far more
expensive (than most micro-power fm gear) -just another way
of assuring that only well-heeled corporate interests can
play ball in their park. I guess it stands to reason that
the same controlling interests that regulate content would
likewise control the very tools used to distribute it. You
really have to take a deep breath and do some heavy
carb-loading to begin climbing the 911 mountain of
information. Even the shortlist of books on the disturbing
implications is long. But not to worry, I’ll only address
what should be the simplest of all issues. At its point of
entry, flight 11 made an especially clear cookie cutter
image outline of its form when it slammed into the south
tower, showing it’s wings, engines and fuselage outlined
very clearly. So how could it be that flight 77 with a
nearly identical structure could have produced only a small
round hole in the Pentagon, while leaving absolutely no
crash debris consistent with a 757? This should be as
simple to discern as a child’s educational toy - square
peg/round hole. But for the masses who live and breathe a
reality derived from their one-world view TV sets, even
this is too confounding for them. A former FBI director
who apparently knew the “score”, seemed to hit the nail on
the head with this quotem: “The individual is handicapped
by a conspiracy so monstrous he cannot believe it exists”-
J. Edgar Hoover. He’s one who should know, having been
fingered for suspected involvement in the conspiracy to
assassinate Dr. Martin Luther King. He once made the
statement, “I’m gonna get King”. Officer Jack McLamb
(Ret.) is the most decorated police officer ever in the
history of the Phoenix police department. He travels and
lectures extensively on such issues as the CIA’s
involvement in the importation of drugs, the War
Conspiracy, and the coming police state. On referencing
this overwhelming disconnect of the mass public’s
consciousness, he cited advice once given him years ago by
his wise ole dad. He said, “don’t encourage pigs to fly”.
Unquestionably information that shocks ones sensibilities
can leave the messenger as the odd man out. I’ve had one
long-term friend and co-worker apparently distance himself
from me over some of my truth-seeking controversial views.
Even family members have no patience to listen when they
too are among the flag-waving, war-mongering
ultra-conservatives. One family member told me, “youre
crazy if you think”. And still another, the defacto
patriarch of the family, asked me to please not talk about
“that” in mixed company because “you’ll embarrass me”.
Nevermind that I was bearing a compendium of evidence
aplenty to justify my claims. And dig, this is one who
admits to never even having heard of a false flag
operation. Those who are basted nightly with soundbites at
6 and 11 as their primary eye on the world, indeed operate
from a different reality. And polish that off with a goodly
dose of “reality shows” (how’s that for an
oxymoron?),sitcoms, and muscle cars doing loopty-loop.
Clearly we’re talking about a seriously deflated two
dimensional world here - the one at which I’ve been huffing
and puffing for years, trying to pump a little fresh air
into.
