Mayor of town in Diyala province escaped with wounds a twin roadside bomb attack on his convoy that also wounded seven of his bodyguards Sunday
U.S. military in Iraq said on Sunday that one soldier died of wounds sustained from a vehicle accident in Baghdad. The US stated his vehicle rolled over.
Kurdish Peshmerga forces and Iraqi police clash at a Kurdish party headquarters in Jalawla. One member from each side killed.
Two Iraqi army soldiers killed, 14 more wounded in roadside bomb blast. Four gunmen found dead a couple days after they were apparently trying to plant a roadside bomb; which detonated prematurely.
In Baghdad, a roadside bomb in Mansour injured a policeman and two civilians. U.S. forces detained five suspects. One dumped body was found.
In Mosul, a car bomb killed a civilian. Two militants were killed near a police checkpoint. A roadside bomb blast wounded a man and his wife. Another I.E.D. left no casualties.
In Garma, one policeman was killed and three more were wounded during an attack on a checkpoint.
Four policemen were wounded during a raid in Tuz Khormato that netted three suspects.

Insurgents blow up house of Sunni lawmaker in Mosul
"The house of Hashim Yahiyah al-Taie, a lawmaker and member of the Iraqi Islamic Party, was destroyed when gunmen blew it up at about 8:00 p.m. (1700 GMT) on Monday," said Yahiyah Abed Mahjoob, a member of Nineveh provincial council, told Xinhua.
11 Iraqis killed, 13 wounded in the latest attacks. A roadside bomb killed a U.S. soldier in Iskandariya. Also, followers of Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr peacefully continued their weekly protests against a proposed U.S-Iraqi security deal.
Turkey staged an air attack on Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) locations in the Qandil Mountains. One rebel was killed and two civilians were wounded.
In Mosul, one gunman was killed and two bodyguards were wounded during an assassination attempt on a Sunni cleric.
Gunmen attacked an Awakening Council (Sahwa) checkpoint in Mussayab, where they killed one member and wounded a second.

Death toll rises to 35 in last Wednesday's ambush against Iraqi security forces in Diyala province. 27 policemen and eight Awakening Councils fighters were killed in the battle which broke out at about 3:30 p.m.(1230 GMT) when suspected al-Qaida militants ambushed the joint force during an operation in the village seeking al-Qaida suspects, the source said.
BAGHDAD, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- Two people were killed and ten others injured in bomb attacks in and near Baghdad on Tuesday, an Interior Ministry source said.
A roadside bomb went off in the busy al-Nidhal Street in Karrada district in central Baghdad, killing a civilian and wounding three others, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
Another roadside bomb struck a truck while traveling in the town of Iskandariya, some 45 km south of Baghdad, killing the driver and wounding his wife and their six-month-old child, the source said.
A third roadside bomb detonated in the predominately Sunni neighborhood of Suleikh in northern Baghdad, injuring four civilians, he said, adding that several shops were damaged by the blast.
A fourth roadside bomb exploded in the predominately Shiite neighborhood of Zaafaraniya in southern the capital, leaving a civilian injured, he added.
