Intro: Testimony continues today in Vanouver, B.C. in

the NAFTA court hearing Mexico vs. Metaclad. Independent Media's Thatcher Collins:

The NaATA

hearing could determine the outcome of a case by the

California-based Sun Belt Water Corporation. On Monday they

asked for a dismissal of the Metaclad case. It was denied. Sun

Belt is suing the Canadian government under NAFTA for $100-220

million in costs and lost profits due to Canada's water movement

restrictions to California.

Also, Vancouver Independent Media reporter,

Scott Nelson, requested to videotape the hearings. It was only

opposed by Metalclad, worried about bad publicity. Nelson's request garnered

much media attention, and thanks, by securing full media access.

Mexico's presentation started with the

background details of their Municipal legal battle.

Meanwhile, peoples gathered outside to

demonstrate against NAFTA including Canadian Member of

Parliament Livy Davies: [actuality]
