The Slow Genocide of Mass Incarceration
The United States is the world's biggest jailer, and this policy of mass incarceration hits Black and Latino people the hardest. Talking about this will be Carl Dix, founding member of the Revolutionary Communist Party, and currently part of a campaign of determined mass resistance against mass incarceration, especially as it has unfolded around "Stop and frisk" policies. We'll also hear from Colin Dayan, author of The Law Is a White Dog: How Legal Rituals Make and Unmake Persons, and Robert Penn Warren Professor in the Humanities at Vanderbilt University.
