Israel has arrested and detained Palestinians throughout its history in an attempt to break their will and repress their liberation movement. In a recent turn of events, a growing number of Palestinians are resorting to engaging in hunger strikes as a way of raising global awareness about their plight at the hands of their oppressors. This past Friday, as she entered day 30 of her hunger strike, activists across the country and globe gathered to show solidarity and demand her release. In Houston, a silent protest took place outside the Israeli Consulate.
