Radio Camp sessions and workshops offered by Free Radio Berkeley for 2005

Radio Camps
0 to 100 Watts in 4 Days
Four day workshop sessions that teach you how to build an FM broadcast transmitter (and other related items such as antennas); and set up a low power (15-100 watt) community radio station capable of covering a broadcast radius between 5 and 15 miles depending on power, terrain and antenna height.
Sessions hours are from 10AM to 6 PM
Workshop fee, sliding scale $150-$200
Radio Camp Dates: January 14-17, March 12-13 / 19-20, split for those that can not take time off from work, April 8-11,May 27-30, July 1-4, August 5-8, September 2-5

Build a Low Power TV Broadcast Transmitter - February 12-13
This workshop covers the basics of low power TV broadcasting. And, provides guided instruction on the building of a low power TV transmitter with a coverage range of 4-6 miles or more.
Session hours are from 10AM to 6PM.
Workshop fee, sliding scale $75-$100

Digital Audio - February 19
An overview of digital audio as it relates to broadcasting and alternative media endeavors. Topics covered include: audio editors; audio streaming; analog versus digital; and audio basics.
Session hours are from 10AM to 6PM.
Workshop fee, sliding scale $25-$50

Introduction to Basic Electronics - March 19-20
A two day hands-on introduction to basic electronics. You will be taught how to: identify and use electronic components such as resistors, capacitors and transistors; solder and use basic hand tools; assemble a simple electronic kit; find sources of components and projects/tutorials; repair and fabricate cables.
Session hours are from 10AM to 6PM.
Workshop fee $100

A sessions are held at Free Radio Berkeley's facility in Oakland, California.
