did a little re arranging for time line and added ** for emphasis. Tried to clarify (highlight?) that a group left the main group, separating themselves from the soft tactics of the rally. then were joined by the second, much larger, group and sense of unity was strong. subtext: different tactics, but strength in diversity.
Script, about 4 minutes. I can cut a bit more.

Though many people at the park dislike all free trade agreements, and many labor organizations want *fair* trade agreements, a few others had a different view of free trade, including _____ ______, a former Canadian provincial legislator.
(drums) Several hours into the day’s schedule, a group of about 200 demonstrators left the official rally and tried to leaflet cars, they marched through the peace arch and the police breifly shut the border.
Garth Mullins of the group, Mobilization for global justice:
This small group was joined after about an hour by the permitted march and the crowd swelled to over 4000. Police shut down the border to allow the main march to through the peace arch.
Later non-labor activists occupied the border road through the park after pushing their way in and out of both US and Canadian customs checkpoints.
After a few hours of sitting, the police slowly moved in to take back the border road. The sit-in was on the Canadinan side and 6 Canadians were arrested by a group of about 20 police. 100 more ran in to push back the 150 people rallying in support of the arrested demonstrators. The border was shut down for about six hours.
