Dear Radio Friend,

The latest Shortwave Report (March 28) is up at the website http://www.outfarpress.com/outfarpress/shortwave.shtml in both broadcast quality 13.2MB) and quickdownload or streaming form (3.3MB) (28:56) It's free to rebroadcast, please notify me if you're airing it and haven't notified me in the last month, please mention the website if you only air a portion. If you just want to listen and have a slow connection, try the streaming version- lower sound quality but good enough and way easier if you don't have a high-speed internet connection. If streaming is a problem because of your slow connection, download the smaller file- it takes 20 minutes or less, and will play swell in any mp3 player application (RealPlayer, Winamp, Quicktime, iTunes, etc) you have on your computer.

This program will be aired on Friday evening at 7pm on KZYX/Z Philo CA, you might be able to stream via http://www.kzyx.org

There are several other streams that work better- http://members.cruzio.com/~frsc/ Freak Radio Santa Cruz (96.3fm) streams this program on Friday at 5:35pm (PST) and on Monday at 9amPST.

Also check out LavaLamp Radio (Japan)- http://www.rinku.zaq.ne.jp/bkaec205/

streaming the SWR, check out the schedule.

And the Partytown streams are great and informative- http://www.partytown.com/radio

This week's show features stories from the Voice Of Russia, Radio Netherlands, Radio Deutsche Welle, China Radio International, and Radio Havana Cuba.

From Russia- An Australian pilot of a fighter bomber refused to complete his bombing orders in Iraq. The US is being accused of breaking international law by using cluster bombs. Then a report on the US military using disinformation in reporting from the battlefield.

From Netherlands- A look at how and why the media is increasing its self-censorship in war reporting. There is a break in the civil war in Nigeria, and the oil companies want protection. Saudi Arabia has submitted a peace proposal to the US and Iraq.

From Germany- A German press review from Thursday morning. Then, the US military is producing and financing several radio stations in Iraq.

From China- An Iraqi official explains why Iraqis must defend their country. Then a press review about the war.

From Cuba- According to a British reporter for the Guardian, US hopes for winning the hearts and minds of Iraqis has evaporated. Al-Jazeera has created English language TV which is expanding in Europe, while its website in the US is being hacked.

All that plus times and frequencies for listening at home. I hope you'll listen and air this if you're connected with a radio station. I am still wondering how to get financially compensated for the 25 hours I put into this program weekly- any ideas are appreciated. Any stations rebroadcasting this (or listeners) are welcome to donate for production costs. You can do so through the website. Many thanks to those that have donated! No Guilt!
