You may be hearing a lot more about the Patriot Act in the coming weeks. That's because parts of the Act are due to expire at the end of this year, and Congress will be considering proposals to renew the law as early as next week. As President Bush and administration officials are urging Congress to renew and expand the intrusive legislation, civil liberties advocates around the country are stepping up their efforts to educate the public, and congressional lawmakers, about the negative impact of the law on civil liberties. We speak with two local advocates that have been doing just that: Susan Diaz and Yanilda Gonzalez of the New York Civil Liberties Union.
