On July 29th, protestors at the Silver Spring recruiting station found the place open for the first time during a protest.
Nobody went in to sign up, but the two recruiters' panic pulled nine cops off the street, preventing a lot of traffic tickets from being written.
At one point, I asked the recruiter how he liked serving in Iraq white rich SUV drivers who support the war stayed home, and he asked me how I would like "a new tape recorder" in such a way as to imply a threat to break the one I was using. I invited him to step right up and try it, but he walked away and would not back up his trash talk.
Protestors hooted and hollared enough to drive away any "business" but also begged SUV drivers to "pull in and sign up" to defend their "own" oil. Not one was interested, of course.
