Like hurricanes? Just keep driving that SUV! Don't like hurricanes, tornadoes, and droughts? Bike more, drive less. Everytime you fill that tank and step on the gas, you also throttle up global warming and all storms. SUV's driven here flood out families in New Orleans.
Consequences aren't limnited ot the Gulf Coast. While Isabel only turned off our lights for one week instead of destroying our entire city, global warming could cause the next Isabel to heep her strenght as she comes north across the Gulf Stream. Isabel, like Katrina, was a Category 5 storm on open water, but unlike Isabel dropped to tropical storm force before landing, due to the latitude involved. Next time may well be different.
