live phone radio interview with two victims of Shell's exploitation; Felix Ouolewemen formerly of the Delta Province in Nigeria, and Vincent McGrath who has been in prisoned with others (the Rossport 5) for trying to stop Shell for building a pipeline on their land. Shell hasn't even got permission for such building, but decided to use the law of the land against the citizens of the land, as only multinationals and governments can do.

The Rossport 5 want the consortium led by JRoyal Dutch Shell (also including Marathon and Statoil of Norway) to build its refinery out at sea where there would be no danger of causing a landslide of the bog of the current route.

Building was suspended by the TNCs in August but the consortium says it will begin building next year. The exploration and all other rights to gas/oil were sold by the Irish Government in 1988 for £500!!??!! Norweay's national oil company owns 27% of the gas find, Ireland owns nothing. Few if any locals are being employed in the work started and enviseged by the consortium.

The Rossport Five were sent to prisonon June 30th 2005 for disobeying a court injunction to, saying they would do anything in their power to prevent the Consortium for proceeding as it was.

The Irish Governmen backs the multinational corporation, not its citizens, saying that the five have to purge their contempt before their will be a look at the situation.
