With the community having to rise up to deliver aid to New Orleans escapees ourselves, like MAYDAY DC is doing, and Army Times reporting the situation to be an "insurgency" the lines are drawn.
Since we recorded coverage of a protest at the White House of (among other things war related) the diversion of levee maintenance and repair funds to Iraq, things have only gotten worse.
Only one radio station is on the air in New Orleans, controlled by the military. Official goon squads threaten people with death for salvaging food that will only rot anyway. The National Guard refers to a "combat operation to take back New Orleans." From its own residents?
Obviously we have to aid people there ourselves. People cannot eat the bullets Bush sends instead of hot meals, nor can tey drink his fake press conferences where food or heavy equipment is unpacked only long enough for a photo op.
People will later(possibly for years) need our aid in the same way the people of Iraq do, in solidarity with the "insurgencies"in both places. Now more than ever it is truly all one war, as we've said sicne we first went on the air.
On top of all else, poverty pimps have descended on the scene, setting aside air-conditioned tents and rows of unused porta-johns for themselves while everyone else has to sleep with the mosquitos and piss in the streets.
If YOU want to help people to survive this horror, donations of food, water, WATER FILTERS, clothing and shoes, diapers and baby goods, and feminine hygiene products are stil being accepted at Cafe Mawanaj for a truck that leaves on Saturday.
