The Bush Administration's "Liberation" in Afghanistan has left a country still heavily under the rule of warlords, where women continue to fight for basic human rights. IMC NYC Sound working group interviewed RAWA member Tahmeena F. and Anne Brodsky, author of "With All Our Strength: RAWA" (Routledge) in late May.

In the interview, Anne and Tahmeena describe how RAWA continues to struggle in secret to liberate women through education, the dissemination of their newspaper, the continuation of their clinics, and their work to document abuses. Also discussed was the promise of the new constitution, the lack of public voice for women in the new government and how the government is composed of people with little actual knowledge & experience in Afghanistan. What arises again and again is how RAWA continues to work towards the liberty of women. Tahmeena also discusses the paradigm of US Liberation, reflecting on prospects for Iraq.
