The Likud Central Committee voted on Monday evening, in favor of the Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon against his Likud rival Benjamin Netanyahu, by voting against holding early primaries for the Likud.

The Likud Central Committee voted on Monday evening, in favor of the Israeli Prime Minister, Ariel Sharon against his Likud rival Benjamin Netanyahu, by voting against holding early primaries for the Likud.

Sharon's victory has put on freeze his crises with Netanyahu which give Sharon time to decide whether to stay in the Likud or lead the premiership election in a new party.

Meanwhile, Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz warned that Israel will resume its policy of targeting the resistance fighters despite of the latest call by the Palestinian factions for a halt of attacks on Israeli targets.

Israeli gun-ships continued their air strikes against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip in what is called "First Rain" military operation for the fourth day, which included the storming of several cities in the West Bank arresting hundreds of Palestinians mainly those who claimed to be either Hamas or Islamic Jihad
