this is a *rough* script

*The Food and Drug Administration has released a study which indicates that American consumers want mandatory labeling of genetically engineered foods and feel "outrage" when they learn how many supermarket products already are produced through biotechnology.

The FDA's internal report, which was commissioned by the agency to gauge sentiment about its proposals for voluntary labeling, said that consumers are concerned about possible long-term environmental and health effects of genetically modifed foods.

The report said, quote: "The typical reaction of participants was not one of great concern about the immediate health and safety effects of unknowingly eating bioengineered foods, but rather outrage that such a change in the food supply could happen without them knowing about it."

* 15 Iraq civilians were injured in a US and British air raid bombed an agricultural community in southern Iraq.

According to the Iraqi military, the US and British war planes "bombed civilian installations and services." Incidents occur on an almost daily basis between Iraq and a US and British force that enforces flight restrictions on the northern and southern parts of the country imposed after the 1991 Gulf War.

Baghdad frequently accuses the United States of targetting civilians.

Iraq says 323 people have been killed and 964 injured by raids since December 1998 when its anti-aircraft artillery started to challenge the overflights following a US-British air war.

*Four people were killed today in anti-government demonstrations in the Bangladesh capital Dhaka.

15 people have died and dozens have been injured in violence which began two weeks ago when the High Court of Bangladesh banned religious edicts.
