The death count is NOT under 2000. Here are the numbers the Associated Press is leaving out.

According to the Department of Defense these are the official numbers:

Operation Iraqi Liberation (OIL):

Combat Ops 3/19/03 to 4/30/03 - 139 Deaths

Post Combat Ops 5/1/03 to 10/21/05 - 1,839 Deaths

DoD Civilians - 5 Deaths

Total: 1,983 Deaths

We are told by the Assosciated Press that 1,983 soldiers and DoD civilians have been killed during the "War on Terrorism." For years the Bush Administration has been desperately trying to link the Afghanistan War with the Iraq War. If this is truely one war, then we should add the deaths in Afghanistan to the total death count of the "War on Terrorism."

Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF):

In and "around" Afghanistan as of 10/21/05: 201 Deaths

"Other Locations": 46 Deaths

DoD Civilians: 1

Total: 248

Total Dead from the OIL and OEF: 2231

Thanks for your time.

PS. The Associated Press will soon be reporting the 2000th death. Please remember that when they make that announcement they are ignoring the deaths of over 231 Americans and countless of uncounted dead Iraqi men, women, and children. They are not only neglecting to report the all the deaths Americans are suffering but also so many foreigners.

Please, please, please at the very least write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper denouncing these wars. Please address the inaccurate death count and the uncounted Iraqi civilians.
