In October of this year the Pitstop ploughshares trial opened in Dublin Ireland. One of the international witnesses who came to Ireland for the trial was former United States Marine Corps Staff Sargent Jimmmy Massey from North Carolina. A public talk had been arranged and Massey was due to speak at Trinity College in Dublin city centre one evening during the trial. On the day the talk was due to take place Massey was in the Coffee shop at the Four Courts with a group of people, one of the group whan introduced to Jimmy Massey responded by describing him as "a war criminal". This encounter had an immediately visible and profound effect on Massey, so much so that when he went to Trinity College that evening he deviated from the text he had prepared. What he said showed not only tremendous courage and honesty on his part, it gave the rest of us some idea of the realities and horrors of the war crimes that have been and continue to be committed in Iraq. This video shows Jimmy Masseys talk in it's entirety
