Since it is all one war from Occupied Fallujah to Occupied Washington, last night protestors visited one target each from the domestic and foreign battles of the global war on the poor
Banging our usual pots and pans we generated INTENSE noise in the lobby area of the Watergate(home of the Nixon scandal that removed him-and of Condoleeza Rice in the South Building).
As we left there we were threatened with illegal mass arrest for "disorderly conduct" but the cops quickly backed off of that one, as no court would uphold that in a First Amendment case. The city's new law prohibiting mass arrests also would apply here, as would all those court cases.
Next we gave the Saudi Embassy(Bush's oil friends and one of the most repressive regimes on Earth) and the kennedy Center(neck deep in oil money) a taste before marching to Tony "The Rat" Williams's home at 2475 Potomac Plaza.
After about 15 minutes of singing the "Tony the Rat" and "Twisted Baseball" songs,as well as the pots and pans, we demanded that the Mayor "come on down." His black Lincoln Navigator pulled up, he got in, and RAN for it!
This means that Mayor Williams, who has evicted so many people including housing activists, got evicted himself last night, if only for a few hours.
DC activists are getting in the game, bringing the war home to the very doorsteps of the people responsible for spreading so much misery on our good Earth.
HOME DEMO'S-the're not just for puppy killers(HLS) anymore
