(CKLN Radio) Sudanese Refugees in Egypt Speak on the plight and massacre of december 3oth

Ahmad Shokr speaks with a sudanese refugee organizer in Cairo after his release from
prison, about the events that took place on december 30th and the conditions
sudanese refugees had faced before the protest camp had started in septmber 2005.
Also ahmad and the organizer speak on the current situation they face now after the
massacre.

On Friday December 30th over 7,000 Egyptian Riot Police violently stormed
a protest camp of sudanese refugees, in Cairo, Egypt. The Sudanese
refugees were protesting in front of the United Nations High Commision for
Refugees to demand their status as refugees. The 3,500 refugees were
demanding the right to remain in Egypt, and continue assistance to the
refugees. At 4 am on december 30th when the riot police stormed the
protest camp killing 26 sudanese refugees including young children.
