During Spring Break, hundreds of people travelled to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. Hundreds of others travelled to New Orleans to help rebuild neglected parts of the city.
Property Smith is a Toronto resident, one of the many students, activists, and other people from all walks of life who joined the Common Ground Collective's efforts to rebuild parts of New Orleans such as the Lower 9th Ward. Property talks about her motivations for joining the efforts, how Common Ground is organized, and recounts some of her experiences in the disaster zone.
