Radio Forum will be present in the four days of activities to be held in Vienna. Radio Forum is a shared space promoted by Linking Alternatives 2 and European and Latin American community radios, which was successfully developed in previous events such as the Third Peoples’ Summit held in Mar del Plata, and the 6th World Social Forum, held in Caracas, Venezuela. Radio Forum is an initiative of technological convergence that comprises the world of community radios, networks, and other actors linked with the New Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), by becoming a project of free radio production. Radio Forum contributes to strengthening the cooperation links between radios from all over the world, by means of a strategic use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) and it creates a common space for independent media.

RADIO FORUM CALL
MAY 10th TO 13th 2006
Vienna, Austria
The fourth Summit between the poltical and economical leaders of Latin America, the Caribbean countries (LAC) and the European Union (EU) will take place in Vienna from May 10th to 13th. Parallel to the official summit social movements and non-governmental organisations from both regions will organise a summit which is named “Linking Alternatives 2” (Enlazando Alternativas 2).
During the four days of the summit to be held in Vienna, not only will there be a strong rejection to the neoliberal policies and the agreements signed between the UE and Latin America, but the development policies and militarism in both continents, will also be questioned. There will also be a Peoples’ Tribunal on European transnationals and the power of corporations in Latin America and the Caribbean.

What is Radio Forum?

The event will be aired and streamed on the Internet through a studio placed at the core of the meeting. The programming will be nonstop and multilingual, at: www.foroderadios.fm. We invite all the organizations that have radio experience to participate of this event, in order to strengthen a place that has become the voice of the Latin American peoples and social movements that struggle for a fairer world.
How to participate?
All the interested people and radio stations can participate of the shared programming between May 10th to 13th in Vienna, by doing live shows, interviews and reports from the events. The programming will be available in different languages. Before the beginning of the event, the shared programming will be coordinated and there will be a series of workshops.

CONVOCATORIA FORO DE RADIOS
10 AL 13 DE MAYO 2006
Vienna, Austria
Entre el 10 y 13 de mayo se realizará en Viena, Austria la Cumbre de Jefes de Estado y de Gobiernos de América Latina y el Caribe (ALC) y la Unión Europea (UE). De forma paralela a la reunión oficial se llevará a cabo un encuentro entre movimientos sociales y organizaciones no gubernamentales de Europa, América Latina y el Caribe bajo el nombre de "Enlazando Alternativas 2".
En Viena, durante estos cuatro días, no solamente se planteará un claro rechazo a las políticas neoliberales sino que también se cuestionarán los acuerdos entre la UE y América Latina, las políticas de desarrollo y el militarismo en ambos continentes. Asimismo se realizará un Tribunal de los Pueblos para enjuiciar el funcionamiento del sistema de poder de las transnacionales europeas, tanto en Latinoamérica como en los propios países de origen.

¿Foro de Radios?
Durante los cuatros días de actividades en Viena se realizara el Foro de Radios, un espacio conjunto impulsado por Enlazando Alternativas 2 y radios alternativas de Europa y América Latina, evento que se ha venido realizando exitosamente en importantes reuniones anteriores como la III Cumbre de los Pueblos en Mar del Plata, Agentina y el VI Foro Social Mundial de Caracas. El Foro de Radios es una iniciativa de convergencia tecnológica en la cual se integra el trabajo de radios comunitarias, redes y otros actores vinculados a las Nuevas Teconologías (TICs), conformando así un proyecto de intercambio en la producción de información libre en formato radiofónico. Foro de Radios contribuye a fortalecer los vínculos de cooperación entre radios de todo el mundo a través del uso estratégico de nuevas tecnologías (TICs) y constituye en sí mismo un espacio común de medios independientes.
Durante el evento se transmitirá en Vivo en formato tradicional y por Internet (live streaming) desde un estudio en el corazón del encuentro social. La programación será continua, conjunta y multilingue a través de www.foroderadios.fm. Invitamos a todas las organizaciones con experiencias radiofónicas a participar de este evento para fortalecer un espacio que se convierte en la voz de los pueblos y movimientos sociales de Europa y América Latina que luchan por un mundo más justo.
¿Cómo participar?
Todas las radios y personas interesadas pueden participar en la programación compartida entre el 10 y 13 de mayo en Viena, realizando programas en vivo, entrevistas y reportajes de los eventos. La programación será multilingue y antes de comenzar el evento se realizara una parilla de programación conjunta y algunos talleres.
