Last night, protestors descended on the DC area home of Rep Sensenbrenner, author of HR 4437, the notorious imigration bill that would make undocumented migration a felony.
Two people were arrested, one on a bullshit charge of swearing! We were there about 20 minutes before the Alexandria, VA pigs arrived.
Upon arrival, the cops demanded to know "who's in charge" and became aggressive on finding out nobody was, as always. At that point they demanded we leave immediately, which is of course a violation of our First Amendment rights.
We were starting to withdraw when they arrested one person and we came swarming back. Soon thereafter, the cops arrested our videographer, but were unable to get me as I was audiotaping them.
Later that night, when the arrestees were released to face misdemeanor charges later, they returned the video camera but NOT the tape inside. I'm guessing the tactics of the Alexandria police Department include routine destruction of evidence.
