Tapkara massacre:

On Monday, Human Rights observers in India's Jharkand state reported that local police opened fire earlier this month, on several thousand indigenous people protesting the Koel-Karo dam project in the village of Tapkara. The February second attack left 9 people and injured two dozen more.

The government sponsored project would submerge 115 villages and displace over 7000 poor rural families.
