This week we focus almost exclusively on US energy policy.

Bob recently blogged about the topic on Huffington Post, where he framed his piece as a critique of Paris Hilton's energy policy - or rather the idea propagated in her (rather funny) video, as well as in much of the media, that off-shore drilling could 'fill the gap' until structural changes ('re-tooling Detroit') proposed by Obama come on stream. Critically, Bob cites US Energy Information Administration analysis, which CEPR summarizes thusly:

Riseup! Radio Crew

A very special show for a very special month! Almost entirely recorded at the Sumac Garden Party, on 20th July, it features live recordings from bands such as Kembasemba, Wholesome Fish and the Bonsai Project.

The Garden Party took place to raise funds and awareness for the Climate Camp and there was plenty of it.. There is also report from the strawbale building going on at the Ecoworks allotment, there is talk of the upcoming mobilisation against the BNP festival and a wicked report by Louisa from the Forest Fields Community Centre Open Day.

Sounds of Resistance

Rant in E-Minor by comedian Bill Hicks, posthumously released in 1997.
The material on this album is darker and angrier in tone than some of his earlier work; Hicks can be heard screaming at his audience in between chapters, and very prominently during the track "You're Wrong Night."
