Rangel is calling for a return to the draft, while McCain is calling for sending MORE troops to Iraq in a futile attempt to defeat both the brutal civil war and the popular resistance to US occupation.

Counterinsurgency experts estimate ONE MILLION TROOPS would be "needed" in Iraq. That return to the draft that Rangel wants would be the only way to get them.

The draft would NOT have deterred the Iraq war-it would have only allowed Bush to go to war with Iran and North Korea as well.

Several members of Resistance and Solidarity, along with DAWN and other DC groups, travelled to Ft Benning, GA for the annual protest to close the infamous Schiool of thet Americas,now known as WHISC.

This was the largest SOA protest ever, breaking last year's turnout record with over 20,000 people attending.

Despite jail terms of up to SIX MONTHS being imposed on protestors who "cross the line" to enter the base, 17 people entered Ft Benning through a hole in the fence and were arrested.
