Hurricane Katrina has wrecked peoples homes and changed their lives forever. After trying to find family members and friends, the next step for Katrina survivors has been to try to find some form of housing. Many people who were sheltered at Houston's Reliant Arena were unable to obtain housing in Houston and are now being sheltered at Fort Chaffee in Arkansas. KPFT correspondent Bradley Stuart spoke with three people that haved moved on from Reliant Arena. (5:07 / 2.3MB)

A February, 2003 Times Picayune article states that the City of New Orleans's Police, Fire and Emergency Response Departments had been placed under Federal control, through the Department of Homeland Security. That's right, Federalized years before Katrina struck.
