After the hectic days in Copenhagen, after the amazing and very intense days of the SOCIAL AND CLIMATE JUSTICE CARAVAN's journey from the anti-WTO protests in Geneva to getting to Denmark to demand "SYSTEM CHANGE, NOT CLIMATE CHANGE"... Participating in direct actions, dealing with police repression and arrests, remaining confident that we can make change, participating in the peoples assembly outside the bella centre....

Finally, we headed back to our home communities to continue to build on the work we only started in Copenhagen.

3 audio files from a truly momentous day. The Peoples Assembly was streamed live thanks to the IMC-Radio crew, which was a great thing. Due to cop violence we missed the initial opening of the assembly (there was much chaos and running about)

1 - THE PEOPLES ASSEMBLY
2 - POST HORIZONTAL PROCESS FEEDBACK SESSION (20 mins) + Joyfull insights (12 mins)
3 - RECLAIM POWER SOUNDSCAPE, many of the chants, an interview with a member of Via Campesina after the assembly and the closing talk in Copenhagen city centre after 8 long, cold hours.

Here goes an uncut 10 minute audio taken yesterday at the burning barricade inside of Christiania, between roughly 23:10 and 23:20, which means about a quarter of an hour before the police went in.

Background sounds include the breaking of stones for throwing them, smashing bottles, rocket fireworks, the helicopter, the fire, chanting rioters, water coming out of a hose to extinguish the fire, etc. Periods of silence are due to everybody running away for a while because of the moving police.

Yesterday saw the first day of action against the false solutions being proposed by COP15, including the capitalist model. Thousands took to the streets of Copenhagen in Denmark under the chants, banners and action of "Our Climate, Not Your Business". As expected when thousands of angry youths mostly dressed in black take to the streets in an unauthorized demonstration the police prepare with their usual tools; Big cops, Riot cops, vans, dogs... But people were not expecting was to see big men in army fatigues wandering around the streets too.

3 days ago a group from the SOCIAL AND CLIMATE JUSTICE CARAVAN visited the Canadian embassy in Brussels to seek protection for a man from Colombia who has received death treaths from Colombian Paramilitaries. The Canadian state is responsible for this due to upcoming free trade agreements as well as, along with the US, not signing the charter to protect indigenous around the world. Also Canadian mining business COSIGO RESOURCES are implicated in using these paramilitaries to obtain native lands.
