Tommy Thomas has been the Sheriff of Harris County for 13 years. He has recently come under fire for mistreatment of prisoners, including the death of Clarence Freeman in custody, as well as using Sheriff department resources to survail the Ibarra brothers, who won a lawsuit against the Sheriff department in 2007 for being beaten and arrested when they took photos of a drug raid in their apartment complex.
On June 23rd a coaliton for justice gatered in front of the County jail at 701 N San Jacinto, and marched to Sheriff Thomas's office on Baker st. This recording took place at the rally in front of the Baker st jail where a number of community activists and victims of abuses by the Sheriffs department spoke.
