Dear Radio Friend,
YouthSpeaksOut! is a monthly hour long program I produce with high school students in Mendocino County. The programs are one hour long and there are many available for streaming or downloading at our website http://youthspeaksout.net
This month we will listen to two interviews from our archives. First, a student from the Willits Charter School, Sarah Schleuder, interviewed Linda Noel in November 2003. Linda is a well-known Native poet. Sarah and Linda are both local Native Americans, and the topic is "Growing Up Native In Mendocino County."
Then we will hear an interview with Native American activist John Trudell, conducted by Patty Martin in May 2006. Patty graduated from Laytonville High School last year and is attending Georgetown University in Washington DC. John is an internationally known Native American activist, poet, and musician. The topic is "Thinking Clearly In The 21st Century."
