VETERANS FOR PEACE JOINS PROTESTS AT G20 SUMMIT

g20Veterans For Peace is joining thousands of people to voice opposition to U.S. foreign policy in Iraq and Afghanistan and the general policies of the G-20. These policies benefit the financial interests of corporations, many of which profit from endless wars, rather than the common needs of people in every nation. The original Veterans Style Encampment that was originally part of the Women's Tent City was shut down.

On Friday, September 25 Veterans For Peace and Iraq Veterans Against the War will be honoring the GIs, veterans, and civilians who have been killed, injured, displaced and otherwise harmed in the name of corporate profit. They will meet at 10AM at Soldiers and Sailors Memorial on 5th Avenue in Oakland in Pittsburgh.

Following the memorial, we will march to 5th and Craft Avenues to join the people's march in commemoration of the Bonus Marchers of the 1930s - World War I veterans who marched on the Capital demanding compensation from the government for their service.
