On Thurseday, Around 400 thousand Palestinians will vote in the second
stage of the local government elections in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
Results of the elections will be officialLy announced next Sunday. 400 women among more than 2500 candidates are competing for the 906 seats.

On Thursday, Around 400 thousand Palestinians will vote in the second
stage of the local government elections in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
400 women among more than 2500 candidates are competing for the 906 seats.

In most regions, the competition is mainly between Fatah and Hamas, whereas in central West Bank areas, Fatah is competing against leftist groups like the Popular Front for the liberation of Palestine and Democratic Front for Liberation of Palestine. These elections are the first local government elections since 1976.

"This is the first local elections in almost thirty years. This will be the first democratic competition that a whole generation will experience. Therefore I encourage everyone to take part in this democratic process which will contribute to the Palestinian issue."
