Lorry drivers in Hong Kong have called off a

five-day blockade of the territory's port after

they emerged victorious in an industrial

dispute.

The drivers have forced cargo-handling

companies owned by some of Hong Kong's

biggest conglomerates to back down after

they tried to levy new charges.

The cargo handlers, owned by some of Hong

Kong's biggest trading companies, backed

down and withdrew the fees they had tried to

impose last week.
