The Company Town Fights Back

Reverend Edward Pinkney of Benton Harbor, MI, has been fighting corruption in that company town. Whirlpool and the Chicago jetset want to take the lakeshore property and turn it into a playground of country homes. Unfortunately, the residents aren't going to have it, and have been very successful fighting back.

Starting with the American tradition of 'courtwatching' and voter registration, Rev Pinkney and the Black Autonomy Network Community Organization (BANCO) have moved to the successful recall of the disgraced City Commissioners. Unfortunately, before the new, clean Commissioners take office the old boys are taking everything they can before they go.

A boycott of Whirlpool will send a message to the world, that the company town is dead, and looting your host is grounds for financial loss.

This interview reviews the recent history and leads to the October 11, 2005 court appearance Rev. Pinkney must make to fight charges of voter fraud.
