Gail Dividson, from Lawyers Against the War
(lawyersagainstthewar.org) speaks from Vancouver on
her continuing efforts to force Canada to enforce
existing laws by arresting George W. Bush, if he
enters Canada, over violations of International law
regarding torture.

The gag order put in place, in a secret hearing on
Dec. 6, 2004, was recently lifted by the Supreme Court
of BC.

The next crucial hearing in this case will be November
25, 2005.

Despite 77,000 pages of ACLU documents which detail
the torture and killing of prisoners in Iraq,
Afghanistan and Guantanamo Bay, as well as the
hundreds of secret CIA rendition houses all over the
world, and with the latest statements by Janis
Karpinski on Democracy Now that the orders DID come
from the top, Canada has refused to recognize their
own laws regarding the arrest of individuals upon
entry into Canada.

They continue to argue that Canada cannot arrest a
sitting Head of State, even though their is no
existing law giving them this position.
