Activists in Maine (USA) and El Salvador have joined forces in opposition to
a Canadian company's plan to build mines in farming communities in El Salvador.
We'll take a look at how these sister communities are working together.
And Koch Industries will likely be a Maine business owner soon, with the acquistion
of Georgia-Pacific. So who is this corporate giant with right-wing ties and
a bad environmental record? We'll talk with someone who has spent years learning
the answer to that question.

Members of the Passamaquaoddy tribe who are worried that a potentially dangerous
liquified natural gas facility will be built in Washington County without adequate
consideration of the possible impacts, are suing the Bureau of Indian Affairs
after that agency gave the project a green light. Today we'll speak with Mary
Bassett, Passamaquoddy tribal member and representative of the group "We
Protect Our Homeland" to learn more.
Local famer and community activist Bob St. Peter is making connections with
a community garden in Los Angeles that is under threat. We'll hear how he's
organizing people in the area to help out.
We'll have a report back on a recent delegation to Bangor's sister city and
WERU's sister station in El Salvador.
And we'll hear about a conference that Toxics Action Maine is sponsoring.
